Careful
management of extraction sockets after tooth
extraction prevents unsightly bone loss and
a better cosmetic outcome of tooth
replacement. No longer are patients forced
to live with traumatic extraction of the
teeth that results in bone loss. The “gold
standard” today is that whenever teeth are
extracted the empty space or socket is
filled with material to promote natural bone
growth in our bodies. This will allow
patients future implant consideration, more
bone to retain dentures or areas more easily
cleaned under crown and bridgework.
